    Park and Trail Map

    by Amanda, 7 days ago

I would really like to see a park and trail map for the City of Colwood. It would be nice if it included the park amenities and distances of the trail section so that when planning walks I know how long the walk is :)

    Havenwood Park

    by Lala, 9 days ago

I visited Havenwood Park with the Habitat Acquisition Trust to remove invasive plants and replant native species. It was a tremendous community event and I'm glad to have taken part in more of these since then. After the invasive pull I went on a wander through the park and was delighted to see hawks and ravens, as well as gorgeous forested wetlands, and after those steep stairs that always make fir a good workout I enjoyed the view from the bluffs. I would love to see more support for invasive plant management in the park and perhaps a sign that... Continue reading

    Lookout Lake Park

    by Erich, 10 days ago

I live close to Lookout Lake Park and use it for my morning walk regularly. It is a beautiful spot to meditate, watch and listen to birds. The lake is visited year round by anglers, often bringing their families. It is wonderful to have a quiet spot in the City for families to enjoy the excitement of fishing. Thank you for stocking the lake to make it more worthwhile for the anglers -- and particularly for the kids. During the day I often see folks meeting there, bringing their chairs and enjoying a lovely social time together.

    During July and... Continue reading

REQUEST - local park with BB court on Triangle Mountain

    by Boleyn, 4 months ago

We are new to Colwood and live on Triangle Mountain.

Lookout Lake Park is a beautiful spot for families to gather.

What is missing on Triangle Mountain is a place where young kids can play at a playground and teens can play BB on a BB court.

May I suggest Colwood look at getting some green space for a "new park" on Triangle Mountain?

by Marc Gosselin, 4 months ago

It would be amazing to have a fenced dog park in royal bay.

    HAVENWOOD PARK

    by JUDY, 4 months ago

I'VE REALLY APPRECIATED THE OPPORTUNITY TO VOLUNTEER WITH THE 'FRIENDS OF HAVENWOOD PARK'. I FEEL THAT I'M CONTRIBUTING TO MY COMMUNITY BY ENRICHING THE NATURAL ECOLOGY OF OUR REGION. I HAVE ENJOYED THE FRIENDSHIP OF WORKING TOGETHER WITH OTHER PEOPLE IN A CONSTRUCTIVE PROJECT. I'VE LEARNED A LOT ABOUT THE PLANTS AND ANIMALS IN OUR ECOSYSTEMS AND HOW WE CAN CARE FOR THEM.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT IN ALL OF OUR PARKS. I BELIEVE THAT IT HELPS TO FOSTER AN ATTITUDE OF PRIDE AND RESPONSIBILITY FOR ONE'S NEIGHBORHOOD.

There are so few birds in the lagoon now

    by Susan, 7 months ago

When we first moved to Colwood in 2012 there were many birds on the lagoon, including large flicks of mute swans. No more. Could it be because

    1. Too many loud parties? The eats and beats festival does not belong on the lagoon please stop putting it there. Put it in royal bay, please. Same with the food truck music

    2. Too many dogs off leash? I’ve seen people allowing their dogs to chase the birds in the lagoon. yes, right in the water. On the royal roads side you can call security but they literally have said on the... Continue reading

    Colwood Creek Park

by Chris Weicker, 7 months ago

We are enjoying walking our dogs three times a day in Colwood Creek Park. It would be nice if we could have another toilet on the other side of the park also. There is a house with two free lending libraries near the bridge (close to Macan Place). It would be great to install a park bench or picnic table beside the libraries and under the large willow tree.
