Over time, signs and other features will be used to emphasize uniqueness, foster sense of place and build community pride throughout Colwood neighbourhoods.

Right now, there's a great new nature trail in Royal Bay that needs a name.

The new trail connects Metchosin Road to the Painter Trail. You can access the trail near the top of the Metchosin Road hill (near Cotlow Road) or from the Painter Trail at the corner of Painter Road and Dressler Road. The trail runs along the ridge and provides a unique overview of the Royal Bay neighbourhood.

This trail creates a healthy 3km walking circuit if you continue along the Painter Trail past Murray's Pond Park and up the Perimeter Pathway behind Royal Bay Secondary School, along Latoria Boulevard and back up the hill on Metchosin Road to the trail head.

Future connections will link to other new parks and trails, and through to existing Colwood neighbourhoods to create a network of trails throughout the community.
