Colwood will be implementing a new Park Improvement Development Cost Charge (DCC) Bylaw.

What do we mean by parks development cost charges?

DCCs are fees collected from the development community when new homes and other types of development are approved by the City. The developer and subsequent homeowners and or businesses will benefit from the use of parks and trails, and are therefore asked to contribute to them. These fees help fund the cost of the new infrastructure and parks needed to service new development. The City of Colwood has identified park improvement projects that need to be constructed to support the additional demands generated by new development over the next 20 years.
