Letter to neighbours on Benhomer Drive

Dear Neighbour:

Re: Benhomer Drive active transportation upgrades scheduled for construction in Summer 2022

We’re planning to upgrade the road corridor in your neighbourhood!

Improvements are planned along Benhomer Drive to improve pedestrian and cycling access. This is one of the projects in the City’s ongoing program of active transportation upgrades planned over the next 10 years and beyond.

The preliminary plans for the Benhomer Drive upgrades may include:

  • Raised concrete sidewalks on one side of Benhomer Drive from Painter Road to Metchosin Road, tying into existing sidewalks
  • Potential for streeetscape enhancements, crosswalks, lighting, bus stop improvments, drainage and boulevard restoration

These improvements are important for the many pedestrians and cyclists travelling in the area and to enhance the connectivity for active transportation throught the City and greater community.

In order to start the designs of the upgrades, the City would like to hear your thoughts, concerns and suggestions in ways we can design the upgrades and accommodate you needs throughout construction.
