Thank you to those who were able to join us on October 27 at Passage Park to review the two design options presented and chat with Colwood engineering staff. Despite the rainy weather, it was wonderful to connect with you all in your own neighbouhood. If you were unable to join us, no worries! We still hope to hear from you using either the virtual sticky notes below or by completing a few additional questions.
We heard from the majority of attendees that design option 2 was preferred, potentially with some adjustments. We also understand that the left turn pocket from Metchosin Road onto Hatley Drive is a high priority for many neighbours.
A few additional ideas emerged from this meeting and we hope to gather your feedback. Please take a moment to share your thoughts on five questions asked below.
Two design options have been prepared:
Based on feedback from you and your neighbours in previous conversations, two design options were created to address future upgrades to the Metchosin Road intersections at Benhomer Drive, Hatley Drive, and Gratton Road.
Left turn lane onto Benhomer Drive (when travelling North on Metchosin Road from Royal Bay area)
Left turn lane onto Hatley Drive (when travelling South on Metchosin Road towards Royal Bay)
Right turn allowed onto Gratton Road (when travelling North on Metchosin Road)
No right turn onto Hatley Drive EXCEPT for local traffic (when travelling North on Metchosin Road)
Right or left turns onto Hatley Road allowed when exiting Gratton Road (can also access Gratton Road via Hatley Road)
