FAQs
What is a Parks Management Plan?
A Park Management Plan establishes a long-term vision for a park and provides direction for decision-making for future improvements, amenity upgrades, park maintenance, environmental conservation and investment. For Herm Williams Park, the plan will consider the park as a whole and identify priorities and recommendations that can be implemented over time. Learn more at www.Colwood.ca/ParksPlanning
Why is the City creating a plan for Herm Williams Park?
The City's Parks & Recreation Master Plan recommends developing individual management plans for community parks to guide their long-term use and investment. Plans have already been completed for several Colwood parks, and Council directed staff in May 2026 to begin developing a Park Management Plan for Herm Williams Park.
With the help of community input, Park Management Plans have already been been completed for Colwood Creek Park, Lookout Lake Park, Ocean View Park, Latoria Creek Park and Havenwood Park.
How will community input be used?
Feedback gathered through this engagement will help the City understand how people use and experience Herm Williams Park, what they value about it and what improvements or opportunities are most important to them. This input will help inform concepts and recommendations as the Park Management Plan is developed.
