Ideas Fair 2025

On May 10, 2025 the City hosted its 3rd Annual Ideas Fair. The Ideas Fair is a fun and interactive opportunity for Colwood residents to have conversations and share ideas with Colwood Council, staff and each other on a wide range of topics. This year topics included: Your Neighbourhood | Housing | Transportation | Parking | Health | Disaster Resilience | Youth | Volunteers | Animals | Litter | and more!
Weren't able to attend? Share a few thoughts here!
While the Ideas Fair is largely about conversations and meeting your City Council, staff, and neighbours, we've posted some opportunities to provide input on the topics discussed for residents who were not able to attend.
Neighbourhoods: What do you love about your neighbourhood? What could be improved? Share your neighbourhood story.
Housing & Development: The Province has mandated that cities like Colwood enable more housing. What do you feel is the most important priority when approving new developments? Take the Development Quick Poll.
Transportation Planning: What are your vision and goals for transportation in Colwood? There will be many engagement opportunities as we work to update the Transportation Master Plan together over the coming months. For a start, answer 3 quick questions about Transportation.
Street Parking: The population on the West Shore is growing. With more people comes more cars. Should Colwood explore ways to manage parking? Answer 3 quick questions about parking.
Living with Animals: Where's a great place for a dog park? Which areas should be on-leash or off-leash? Where do we really need a dog bag dispenser? Where could we use wildlife signs? Drop a pin on the Living with Animals Places Map.
Disaster Resilience: Colwood is working to engage our community in building Disaster Resilience through Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Adaptation strategies. Learn more and take the survey
Biodiversity: The City of Colwood is conducting a state of biodiversity assessment and developing a strategy to protect, restore, and enhance biodiversity. Learn more and watch for engagement opportunities.
Health + Well-being: Colwood has roughly 22,000 residents and is growing rapidly, with very few family doctors. The City established the Colwood Clinic at the commons in Royal Bay. Our first doctor is now providing health care to more than 500 Colwoodians who have been without a family doctor. Learn more and add your name to the BC Health Registry to access the clinic. www.colwoodclinic.ca
Litter: Colwood is a beautiful place to live, work, and play—and we all have a role to play in keeping it clean and litter free. Learn more and join a litter pick at www.colwood.ca/Litter
