Next steps
Watch for opportunities to provide feedback on Colwood's new Draft Transportation Master Plan
The City of Colwood will be encouraging residents to provide input into a new draft Transportation Master Plan in the coming weeks. Watch for your opportunity to help shape this important work!
Planning for our growing community
Colwood has experienced rapid population growth and changing travel patterns since the previous Transportation Plan was adopted in 2015. The new draft incorporates extensive background research, technical analysis, data from the City's Traffic Model and input from the community through in person events and a survey in 2025.
The new draft Transportation Master Plan is intended to bring policies up to date with the current values and priorities of the community and will guide how the City invests in safe and efficient movement in and around Colwood.
What to look for in the draft Plan
The draft Plan details what is proposed for the future road network, expanded pedestrian and cycling networks, a future transit network, and priority infrastructure actions such as road corridor upgrades, intersection improvements, and active transportation connections.
Before opening public engagement, City staff will be adding an executive summary with key takeaways and additional details to describe how proposed transportation projects are prioritized, and how they will be funded.
Watch for opportunities to provide input
This spring, staff will be out in the community gathering input on the draft Plan. Keep your eye out for information boards at local parks, shops, and other places residents spend time.
When you see posts on the City website and social media, in the newspaper or around the community, please take a moment to review the draft Transportation Master Plan and share your thoughts in surveys, quick polls, and map markers.
Community input will be presented to Council in the coming months with the goal of having a new Transportation Master Plan in place by the fall of 2026. Subscribe to receive Council meeting information at www.colwood.ca/Subscribe
