Thank you to everyone who shared input into the Draft Active Transportation Plan!

The draft plan is scheduled to be presented to Council for consideration on January 23, 2023.

About the Active Transportation Plan

The Draft Active Transportation Network Plan describes how we can make it easier for cyclists, pedestrians, and people with disabilities to travel in and through Colwood, improve road safety, and work to meet our climate targets.

The Draft Active Transportation Network Plan extends the guidance already contained in the 2015 Transportation Master Plan and builds on more recent direction established in the 2018 Official Community Plan . It is also based on feedback collected from the public and stakeholder groups engaged in the earlier stages of the project.

The City intends to update the current Colwood Transportation Master Plan and will incorporate the guiding principles, network plans, infrastructure design guidelines and implementation strategy from the Draft Active Transportation Network Plan.

What does this work address?

This draft plan maps out active transportation networks and project priorities for Colwood. This includes setting goals, establishing design standards for new and updated infrastructure, and identifying key priority projects that will better connect neighbourhoods and increase active transportation safety and comfort in Colwood.
